Welcome ANA

Daily nonstop to Tokyo

From 30 March 2014 All Nippon Airways (ANA) will be flying nonstop to the Tokyo-Narita hub. With this new Japan nonstop service the airport is strengthening its hub functionality and extending the already existing long haul services to Asia. With the Star Alliance Partners Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines all passengers are able to enjoy the best domestic and European connecting flights.

The new route will be beneficial for the region because there are more than 10,000 Japanese living in North Rhine-Westphalia, 6,500 of them in Düsseldorf alone. Traditionally there have been very close economic ties between the two economic areas. More than 500 Japanese companies have a base in North Rhine-Westphalia, 421 in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area alone, including world famous companies such as Fujifilm, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan, Toshiba, Canon, Sony, NEC and Yamaha.

Every week the ANA Group offers more than 1,800 flights across its total network, serving international destinations in Asia, Europe and North America and having at its disposal a comprehensive domestic network within Japan. It has a market share of more than 50 per cent in Japan and is seen as one of the major Asian airlines.

ANA deploys the Dreamliner – a Boeing 787-8 – on the route from DUS to Tokyo.

The aircraft arrives each day at 16:00 from Tokyo and returns at 19:35.

Last year some 50,000 people from the area around Düsseldorf Airport flew to Japan – up till now mainly via Paris, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Munich.
When this new route becomes operational in March, ANA will no longer provide a shuttle bus to Frankfurt airport.
