From 27 October the observation deck on the roof of concourse B will remain temporarily closed because of building work. In addition to the construction of a check point with X-ray equipment and gate sensor, other structural modifications are being made in the terrace access area.
The airport is responding to increased security measures introduced by the competent regulatory authority, in accordance with which access to the visitor terrace will in future only be possible after passing though a security check. Taking unauthorised objects onto the viewing platform is no longer allowed. But fluids such as drinks, sun cream or hand cream will continue to be permitted.
However, the fact that the building work is proving to be more extensive than originally planned has resulted in a temporary closure.
We anticipate that the observation deck will be re-open to the public from the middle of December. We will announce the exact date on our website and on Facebook as soon as possible.
We apologise to all visitors for any temporary inconvenience and have already come up with a small compensation: access to the terrace will be half price from the date the terrace reopens until 18 January 2015.
