Company

The METRO GROUP, one of the leading international trading concerns, employs over 280,000 staff. Currently, the METRO GROUP is represented in 33 countries around the world with different sales brands and is on a continuous course of strong growth.

Task

As one of the world’s international trading concerns with its headquarters in Düsseldorf, the METRO GROUP wishes to appropriately welcome, escort and bid farewell to customers, business partners and employees at Düsseldorf Airport. The international hub, which sees 32,000 business travelers and opinion leaders from Germany each day, is therefore an ideal partner for showcasing the brand on an everyday basis.

Solution

By occupying advertising space on a year-round basis in Terminals A and B, the METRO GROUP ensures a continuous presence at Düsseldorf Airport. With a banner in the departures hall, a backlit conveyor belt in the security area and multiple monitors suspended above all of the airport’s walkways, the METRO GROUP accompanies and informs its business traveler target group along all of the walkways at Düsseldorf Airport. In the Pier A shopping mall a temporary transparent banner and Colorama light boxes round off the individually planned and attention-grabbing overall image.

As a result of the good cooperation and in-depth customer consultations, the idea came about to put separators on Düsseldorf Airport’s baggage conveyor belts at the time of the Eurovision Song Contest. This turned out to be an engaging campaign and an imaginative reference to the METRO GROUP, which ensured positive feedback from all sides.
