Current changes at the airport

The effects of the corona pandemic are primarily felt at the airport in terms of flight operations or passenger numbers. Travelers who want to take a flight despite the general situation are asked to check with the airline or travel company about the status of their flight before arriving at the airport. Current flight information can also be found under Arrivals/Departures.

But areas of the airport are also affected by changes beyond flight operations.

Airport terrace
Due to  the corona pandemic the terrace is closed until further notice.

The popular airport tours will be temporarily suspended until end of July 2020.

Safer Bag has temporarily stopped the service.

Check-in
Check-in takes place for passengers at counters 101 to 170. A separate counter is still available for checking in bulky luggage.

Checks upon entry
With regard to the entry requirements, the airport follows the guidelines of the health authorities. To date, these do not provide any temperature scans or other measures when entering or leaving the country. Please inform yourself on the website of the responsible authority.

Events
The popular annual event “TanzTerminal, tanz!” following the finale of the TV show Let's Dance does not take place for the time being. We will inform you about any postponement and other events planned for 2020.

Hand luggage
In order to reduce the risk of infection and to protect employees, a maximum of ONE piece of hand baggage per passenger is currently accepted at security controls based on instructions from the Federal Police. The regulation also applies e.g. for handbags or small backpacks if you are carrying a carry-on suitcase or bag at the same time. However, it is possible to stow the smaller piece of luggage in the larger one.

Hygiene and distance rules and mouth protection in North Rhine Westphalia


The hygiene and distance rules issued by the federal government also apply at the airport. Please keep a distance of at least 1.5 m. A mouth-to-nose covering in the Sky Train and Terminal, e.g. Cloth mask or scarf is mandatory.

Lost and Found office
The lost property office is temporarily located in the APCOA parking control center, on the ground floor of car park P3.

Lounges
The Hugo Junkers Lounge in Gate B and the Open Sky Lounge in Gate C remain closed until further notice.

Pick-up / Visitors / Terminal Entrance
It is still possible to pick up relatives and friends at the airport in accordance with the specified contact rules. Please plan your arrival in such a way that you do not have to stay in the terminal building any longer than absolutely necessary.
The barriers to the terminal entrance are currently open. However, this does not override the 10 minute hold rule. Please use the car parks, which are still open, for longer parking periods.

Parking 
The car parks P1, P3, P5, P7 as well as the parking lot P24 and first class parking can still be used. In addition, the short-term parking lots P11 (Departure level) and P12 (Arrival level) provide sufficient parking space. 
Until further notice, car parks P2, P4 and P8 as well as P22, P23, P25 and P26 will be closed. An exit is possible at any time. If you have any questions about parking, please email parken@dus.com or call the parking service center on +49 (0)211 421-25 500.
The barrier systems on the departures and arrival levels (Kiss & Fly) remain open until further notice.

Information about online parking space bookings:
If you want to change your online parking space booking due to the current situation, please contact us by email at parken@dus.com and provide your reservation number. We are currently receiving a large number of customer inquiries. If you have already made an inquiry to the Park Service Center, please wait for the feedback and do not contact us several times. Please understand that processing may take some time. All inquiries will be processed as quickly as possible.

Piers
Pier B is temporarily no longer used. Starting next week, this will also apply to Pier C.
In future, all passengers will be handled centrally via Pier A. Due to the structural conditions Pier A meets the current hygiene requirements for the protection of passengers and employees.

Restaurants
The restaurants in the terminal, which are subject to official regulations, will close at short notice.
These Shops and Restaurants are still open for you.

Sheraton Airport Hotel
The hotel is temporarily closed. In the meantime you can contact the hotel via email: airporthotel@sheratonduesseldorf.com or meeting@sheratonduesseldorf.com.

Shops
The shops in the terminal, which are subject to official regulations, will close at short notice. According to current knowledge, the REWE supermarket and the Terbuyken bakery on the arrival level remain open. Additionally these Shops and Restaurants are still open for you.

SkyTrain
The SkyTrain has adjusted its frequency and currently runs every fifteen minutes between the terminal, the parking garages and the train station Düsseldorf The SkyTrain has its clock frequency. It runs from Monday to Saturday between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. These times must be every 15 minutes. Please listen to your own departure times: from Terminal C at xx: 05, xx: 20, xx: 35 and xx: 50 o'clock. From the long-distance train station airport at xx: 13, xx: 28 and xx: 43 and xx: 58. In the existing operating times and on sundays (3:45 a.m. to 0:45 a.m.), a replacement bus service is caused which runs every 30 minutes. Depending on the number of passengers, the timing can and will be known in the following weeks.
