Due to its central location close to the city, the Dusseldorf Airport has a special responsibility for the interests and needs of its neighbouring residents. Apart from providing funds for immediate noise reduction, the airport is seeking to engage in a dialogue with its neighbours.

In a concerted effort to approach its neighbours, Dusseldorf Airport has initiated a number of offers. In the Airport Community Office, a neighbourhood team is providing information and consultation by way of informational bus tours through the surrounding communities, on the internet, via a telephone hotline or event-related newsletters.
