Three top rankings in the Skytrax World Airport Awards, the AirHelp Score, and the European Airport Index confirm that we are setting benchmarks across Europe. These distinctions highlight the strong impact of our ongoing efforts to improve the passenger experience through streamlined processes and enhanced services.
After already strong results last year, we have once again improved. This is clear evidence that our quality enhancement measures are taking effect: more efficient processes, shorter waiting times at security checkpoints, and the continuous expansion of self bag drop options all contribute to a better travel experience. Additional initiatives to further increase customer satisfaction are already in the pipeline.
Düsseldorf Airport named Best Regional Airport Europe 2025 by Skytrax World Airport Awards
The “industry Oscar” is one of the most prestigious awards in the aviation sector. Since 1999, the UK-based consultancy Skytrax has conducted the world’s largest customer satisfaction survey in air travel. Passengers from over 100 countries evaluate more than 500 airports worldwide. The focus lies on all key aspects of the passenger experience: from check-in, security controls, and cleanliness to wayfinding, service, dining, and transport connections.
In the global category Best Regional Airports, Düsseldorf ranks 3rd, and in the overall ranking of all 575 evaluated airports, we achieved 28th place.
And what does “Regional Airport” mean?
The category “Regional Airport” includes airports that mainly serve intra-European or continental connections – meaning they are not major intercontinental hubs.

We are committed to continuously improving the passenger experience. To support this goal, Düsseldorf Airport has obtained ASQ accreditation – an international benchmark for airport service quality. Developed by Airports Council International (ACI), the ASQ program is the world’s leading standard for measuring and enhancing the passenger journey.
