Two rail stations

More than 350 trains from S-Bahns (urban trains) to ICEs (Intercity Express trains), stop at Düsseldorf Flughafen (Airport) train station every day, which is located on the east side of the airport grounds. The SkyTrain, a fully automatic cabin railway, will take you straight into the terminal from the station building. Only the S-Bahn S11 stops at the Düsseldorf Airport Terminal station in the basement of the terminal building. The S11 runs from Bergisch Gladbach via Düsseldorf central station to the airport.

The SkyTrain takes you within seven Minutes from the train station to the terminal bulding.

SkyTrain service daily
from 3:45 a.m. to 0:45 a.m., every 5  to 7 minutes, depending on the number of passengers. No service from 0:45 a.m. to 3:45 a.m.

Bus shuttle during the summer season
Until 20.10.2024, check-in on Saturdays and Sundays starts at 3:00 a.m. for some flights. As the SkyTrain does not operate until 3:45 a.m., shuttle buses provide the transfer service from 2:15 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. on these days.

  • 760 to/from Ratingen and Düsseldorf-Wittlaer-Bockum, Rosspfad
  • SB51 to/from Kaarst-Rathaus via Nordfriedhof und Meerbusch
  • 896 to/from trade fare centre Düsseldorf (only during fairs)

Special buses drive to events at the trade fair centres in Düsseldorf and Essen.
