The traffic flow at the terminal is regulated by automated barriers in front of and behind the departure drive-up area. Your vehicle can pass through the zone free of charge and take passengers to the terminal at the departure level. Extended stopping in this area, however, incurs a charge.

You can stay up to 7 minutes twice per calender day free of charge on the departure level. The time is counted from the moment of entry to exit. If you need more than 7 minutes, a fee of 5 Euros for each additional 5 minutes is charged. The maximum stopping time is 30 minutes.

Arrivals level

The Arrivals level is an absolute no-parking zone.

Passing through the Kiss & Fly drop-off zone

Vehicle license plates are recorded by cameras when entering and exiting. If the free time in the Kiss & Fly parking zone is not exceeded, the barriers at the exit open automatically. If the free time is exceeded, a parking fee is payable. You can pay this conveniently by card at the exit barrier. Cash machines are available for cash payments.

Parking for Pick-up & drop-off 

For drivers who want to take their time time to accompany their passengers to the terminal, Düsseldorf Airport recommends using the short-term parking lots P11 and P12 located right behind the drive-through area of the departure level, or car parks P1, P2 and P3 which are close to the terminal. The pick-up and drop-off ticket is suitable for short stays. It offers 90 minutes of parking on P12 for just 6 Euro.

If you would like to accompany your relatives, friends or business partners to the terminal calmly and spend some time, Düsseldorf Airport recommends the short-term parking lots P11 and P12 as well as the car parks P1, P2 and P3 close to the terminal. We also recommend booking the pick-up and drop-off ticket online in advance.

There are no options for turning before the barrier system. Alternatively, you can drive into the underground parking garage P1 and the car park P2.

Any driver who passes the barrier to the access area must continue through to the exit. The driver may take up to 7 minutes to pass through the Departures level free of charge, which should be plenty of time.

Düsseldorf Airport recommends that you don’t go back in but drive directly to the short-term parking lot P11 (located right behind the exit of the departure level).
No, you don’t have that option. An absolute no-stopping rule is in effect on the arrivals level. The bright first floor of the P3 parking garage with its convenient parking spaces or the P12 short-term parking lot are ideal for such cases.
No maximum height is given in the Kiss & Fly stopping zone.

The best option for those who are mobility-impaired is using one of the conveniently located and barrier-free car parks or short-term parking lots.

Please note: For mobility-impaired persons with the blue EU ID card, our car parks are free of charge, but our short-term parking lots are not.

Severely disabled people, who have the blue European Parking Pass issued by the Road Traffic Authority or the new orange-colored parking pass, may stop at the “Kiss & Fly” area on the departure level for up to three hours free of charge. To use this option, you must display the original ID (copies not permitted) in your car along with the parking disc showing the current time. Please register upon entry by using the call button at the automated barrier.

Several payment kiosks are available at the departure level for cash, EC, and credit card payments (PIN and NFC systems). You can also pay right at the exit barrier with a credit card or EC card.

You do not need to go to the pay station within the 7 minutes. Your license plate number will be recorded and the barrier will open within the free passage time.

Alternatively, you can also pay your parking fee via your smartphone. To do so, use our mobile payment option.

Yes. Since the introduction of automatic license plate recognition, the barrier at the exit opens automatically as soon as your license plate is recognized. This means that your parking session has been correctly recorded in the system and paid for in full. In this case, there is no outstanding payment.

This is permitted under supervision of the staff members onsite or at headquarters (reachable via call button at all entry and exit points). The barriers will be operated manually.
License plate numbers are captured and cross-checked when entering and exiting to speed up traffic flow. That is how the barrier opens automatically within the free 7 minutes. All data is deleted after 24 hours. You can find additional information about data protection here.
In this case, 5 euros will be charged directly for every 5 minutes. For longer stays, we recommend that you use our parking facilities near the terminal (P1, P2, P3) or short-term parking spaces (P11, P12).
