Arriving at the airport

Welcome to Düsseldorf!

When the seatbelt sign on the plane disappears, most passengers are already thinking of their way home, to a business meeting or on their onward journey. After landing, everything at the airport is supposed to run as quickly and smoothly as possible - from leaving the aircraft to passport control and baggage claim. We at Düsseldorf Airport also pursue this goal together with all the partners.
Do you have a question? Our service team at the baggage belts will be happy to help you. Please also pay attention to the monitor displays and announcements.
Do you have an appointment? You can't miss each other at the Meeting Point in the public area. You will find it next to the information desk between Arrivals 2 and 3.
Do you have to go to passport control after landing? With EasyPASS you can carry out border control yourself under certain conditions.

Baggage claim

The unloading of baggage usually begins while the passengers leave the aircraft. Specific service providers, so-called handling partners, carry out baggage handling on behalf of the airlines. The companies AAS, AAS Düsseldorf Ramp and Wisag at Düsseldorf Airport ensure that your baggage is transported reliably and safely from the aircraft to the baggage belt in the terminal.
In the best case, the baggage claim begins 20 to 40 minutes after the aircraft has reached its parking position. The real processing times for baggage depend on various factors.

The volume of baggage alone is an important factor: the more baggage is on a flight, the longer it takes to unload. The times for transporting baggage to the terminal also vary depending on the distance to the aircraft's parking position. In addition, delays in flight operations can cause scheduling bottlenecks and process delays.
There are special baggage pick-up points for baby carriages, sports equipment etc. very close to your baggage belt. Please pay attention to the signage.
If your pet is traveling within the European Union, you can pick it up at the dedicated bulky baggage counter of your flight. The counter number will be displayed on the baggage belt. If you are entering the country from a non-EU country, please contact customs.
Luggage trolleys are available at all baggage carousels. You can pay the fees (2.50 euros) by card.
If your baggage is lost or damaged, it is best to contact your airline or the relevant service provider (handling partner) immediately. You can find the contact partner for your flight on the monitor display at the baggage belt or on the airline details on our website.

Report the loss of or damage to your baggage at the Lost & Found counter of the handling partner before you leave the security area.

Hungry or thirsty after the flight?

Depending on which gate or pier you enter the terminal after landing, you can choose from various gastronomic offers on the way to the baggage belt. There are vending machines with non-alcoholic drinks and snacks at the baggage reclaim. In the public area of the terminal, you will find further food and beverage options and a supermarket.
In addition to medicines for travel and at home, the Metropolitan Pharmacy also offers cosmetic products, sun protection and travel supplies. You will find the pharmacy in the security area in Pier C and in the public area on the departures level.
Would you like to fill the fridge after your return or do you need a snack for your onward journey? In the public area of the arrivals level you will find a Rewe City Markt, bakeries and restaurants, some of which you can pre-order from.
Do you need a small gift or a souvenir? You will find the flower store Flores Mercedes Sánchez in the public area on the arrivals level. On the departures level, Your Present offers souvenirs and gifts.
